Daftmill 2007 Single Cask 039/2007 – Nickolls & Perks 225th Anniversary 58.70% ABV

Description

Daftmill is a farm distillery owned and operated by Iain and Francis Cuthbert during the farm’s quiet periods. In the summer of 2007, just two years after the Cuthbert family built the distillery, this whisky was filled into a first-fill bourbon cask where it spent the next 14 years maturing. In winter 2021, Nickolls & Perks visited the farm where they discovered this extraordinary cask resting in the warehouse. Only 220 bottles were drawn from the cask, filled at natural cask strength in 2022, and released to celebrate the 225th anniversary of Nickolls & Perks.

This whisky is from a single ex- Heaven Hill first fill ex bourbon cask. Barrel #39  was distilled from Optic barley from the farm’s South Fields, harvested in August 2006 and malted in Alloa in summer 2007.
